A switch is a networking device that connects the devices in your network. It receives the incoming data packets and distributes them across the network.
Scanned Refurbished Switch Information
Like with most other network devices Lansweeper will retrieve the basic information from your switch, including but not limited to:
- Device description
- Manufacturer and Model
- Status
- Serial number
- Up time
- Network interfaces
For certain brands (Dell, Fujitsu, HP, IBM, Lenovo), warranty information may also be available.
Scanned Refurbished NAS Information
When Lansweeper scans your network, it will create an asset page for your NAS appliances. The best protocol to scan your NAS appliances with will greatly depend on which stripped-down operating system was used, this can be Secure Shell (SSH) or Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP). Lansweeper will show you a list of connected network interfaces to the NAS. This list gives you a clear overview of all available ports and the devices connected to them. Likewise, if the connected device has been scanned as well, you can quickly navigate from the NAS's asset page to those of the connected devices and vice versa.
The scanned information can include, but is not limited to:
- Device description
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Serial number
- Uptime
- Network interfaces
Scanned Thin Client Information
The information retrieved from Thin Clients depends on the operating system used. When scanning a Linux based Thin Client, Lansweeper will retrieve the information using the Secure Shell or SSH protocol, Linux commands are then sent via port 22.
For Windows-based Thin Clients, Lansweeper will scan the asset using Windows Management Instrumentation or WMI. WMI is a management framework built into most Windows operating systems. By default, Windows sends WMI data over random ports.
Scanned Thin Client data can include, but is not limited to:
- Disks
- Network interfaces
- Manufacturer
- Model
- Memory
- OS
- Processor
- Serial number
- Software
- Uptime
